Auditions for choral ensembles happen at the beginning of each semester. The Fall 2012 auditions will be held Monday, August 27th & Tuesday, August 28th. Sign-up sheets for auditions will be posted outside room 143 of the Music Building in August 2012.
Auditioned ensembles include:
- Texas State Chorale
- Texas State University Singers
- VocaLibre (Callback audition TBA)
NOTE: Men’s Choir and Women’s Choir do not require a formal audition. Students interested in participating in those ensembles should attend the first class meeting (August 29th) in room 222 in the Music Building.
Auditions will consist of:
- Vocalization to demonstrate tone quality and range
- Pitch sing-back
- Sight reading
Every student who auditions will be placed in a choir according to their abilities and the specific needs of each ensemble. Sight reading abilities are a major factor in considering ensemble placement.
